Psychotherapy, therapy, counseling, these are all terms to describe the process of challenging thought patterns, gaining insight into one’s emotions and behaviors, and creating new, healthy thought patterns and coping skills. I utilize a diverse mix of therapeutic tools, based on MINDFULNESS PRACTICES with evidence-based practices such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), depending on the needs of my clients.
Art has always been a healing force in my life and has become a valuable addition to my work in the field of psychology. After completing a dual M.A degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy and Art Therapy, I began to focus on my specialties in Anxiety Disorders, ADHD, Gifted & Talented (Twice Exceptional) and Women's Issues (including Infertility and Postpartum Mood & Anxiety Disorders-PMAD).
Anxiety Disorders - Learn how to manage and overcome stress and anxiety, including how to reduce stress, the differences between normal everyday anxiety and an anxiety disorder, how to recognize symptoms, and what to do if you have panic disorder, generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) or OCD.
ADHD - Learn what ADHD is, the causes and brain chemistry, the myths and misunderstandings and effective skills on how to treat and cope with the disorder. Unlock your hidden strengths and abilities and develop skills to manage your executive function system.
Postpartum Mood & Anxiety Disorders (PMAD) - Women of every culture, age, income level and race can develop perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. Symptoms can appear any time during pregnancy and the first 12 months after childbirth. There are effective and well-researched treatment options to help you recover. Although the term “postpartum depression” is most often used, there are actually several forms of illness that women may experience.
I enjoy bringing a creative component into my work with clients. Mindfulness and Art therapy can be incredibly effective tools in helping to process different life events, thought patterns, and emotions. They can also become powerful coping skills that can be used outside of the therapy session. You do not need to be an experienced meditator or artist to experience the benefits of Mindfulness or Art Therapy. They are offered to any client who is interested in utilizing these powerful techniques.
I care tremendously about the people that I work with. I dedicate myself to being fully present when I work, so I can enrich them with the tools and awareness they need to forge into the life they crave for themselves.
